Unemployment websites & phone lines crashing all over the country. Does anyone think the SBA that normally takes 6 mos to process a loan is going to be able to do it in a week, with thousands of simultaneous applications? They just don’t get it. The system can’t handle volume.
Complex, means-tested, targeted interventions are too slow to help the people who need to pay rent in 8 days. They're also hubristic, because the technocrats who propose them believe they know better than the people what the people need. We know what we need. We need cash.

I have to update this. A friend applied yesterday for PPP for his company (6 employees) with local bank. Received approval today. I’m amazed. I’ll let you know when he gets the money.
