Unless I'm mistaken, there were no questions on housing during last night's #DemDebate. People are dying on the streets of my district because our developer-run government treats them like human refuse.
National rent control. More public housing.
Everyone housed. No compromise.

I think we need a vacancy tax. I can see this in Bremerton. Rented property is taxed at 37%. As income. Empty property is taxed at 20% as Capitol gains. A 20% vacancy tax would change a lot.

They definitely need a vacancy tax in places like Los Angeles, NYC, Oakland and Chicago. I know that. Also eminent domain to force owners to sell to community land trusts.
