We’re likely to find more beaked whales. No one has found Marvin, a big screw shaped colonial invertebrate filmed off a Shell oil rig in the sixties. we’ve not found all the sharks. Coolest, submersible pilots in 1968 saw, at 4000 feet, a 30-foot fish that was not a shark.

-
I demand pictures/link to all of these fascinating things! (googled "Marvin" and had no luck)

Soon as I get my computer up today, promise

Check out this paper about their smaller pals, looks like when they're abundant their poo could take a bunch of carbon out of the surface ocean. The importance of
#poo strikes again ;) https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2018JG004918 … -

Um...where did you say?!? -
well, we're not quite sure. But this was filmed in the southern hemisphere for what it's worth. :D
-
Thank you!
I was just making sure it would not be appearing at a beach near me. ie; Edisto Beach, SC!?!
-
Pretty sure you'd do far more damage to it than it to you.

Why are they touching it

-
Human nature. "Hey look, something that looks fragile or could be potentially dangerous...I wanna touch it"
-
Thats basically the plot of every alien life based movie. We never learn.

see the weird part to me is that scientists describe pyrosomes like these as "sock-shaped" Does that look like a fucking sock. Do your socks like a fricking pyrosome??
-
Looks like a sock to me.

-
To be fair, my socks aren’t 60 foot long so it doesn’t look like my socks.

-
Mine are.
