For me it was the original Optimus Prime. I wanted it SOOOO bad. And my mom said it was partially responsible for the breakup of my parents marriage. 2/9

As with a lot of little people kids i had to have my legs straightened when i was in kindergarten. My dad PROMISED me he’d get me OP. My mom wrote all the info out, had one on hold at Toys R Us for him to pick up and send. (we lived in CA. Surgery in Baltimore) 3/9

Dad stayed in CA b/c he used a wheelchair and it would have been too much for mom to manage his chair and me in a spica case. They kept saying if i was good and didn’t give the docs a hard time it would be there when i woke up from surgery 4/9

A package arrived surgery day and my mom laid it on the table in pre-op and was like “ok, don’t be scared. see you on the other side. We love you!” And i went into surgery. 5/9

The MINUTE i woke up i was excited. Groggy but excited. And i opened it up. And, instead of the Optimus Prime I was expecting, it was...Inferno. 6/9

I was super drugged and totally melted down. Mom told me years later she called him My mom was like “i traveled cross country to manage our daughter’s major surgery and you had ONE thing to do!” 7/9

Not only did i know the difference, but it was my go-to Dad guilt card for almost a decade. Nevertheless, when i turned TWENTY-FIVE i bought myself a damned FIRST GEN OPTIMUS PRIME and i still love it. 9/end
