The “trust us, we know” thing was meant as a paraphrase of how the intel community acts. They give us zero verifiable evidence, just their word, often leaked to the press through proven perjurists like James Clapper.

What evidence does Trump give? I'll take the word of an intellectual community over a political administration, especially one that has had to let go of half of it's members due to corruption or were never qualified at all.

I'm well aware of the train of lies, falsified missions or missing $ from these agencies. I do not doubt that there is corruption or problems. I just do not think Trump is an honest person if you're basing old behavior on new, then I'm not sure how you can believe him either.
