For me, given our intelligence agencies’ histories of chronic malfeasance, for longer than Trump’s been alive, I don’t see how it seems that far-fetched. We’re also waiting on proof (rather than “trust us, we know”) on Trump/Russia collusion. Our country is in a bad place.

Steve, pause the both-siderism for a sec and think. There’s a slight difference between true corruption like McCarthyism/Gulf of Tonkin vs. citing the FBI’s use of an informant to investigate a possible crime (their standard MO) as evidence of some vast Deep State conspiracy.

The difference being, of course, that Jimmy Carter was not a known, proven fraud. And...The Intercept? Seriously? Greenwald’s as much of a conspiracy theorist as Trump.
