Dear Steve, please never run for office. A sign of an open (scientific) mind is to be able to argue your points without having the need to have the final say and/or the need to have the other side say that you are right.

A sign of honest discourse is acknowledging the points the other side of the discussion makes. And too late.

The fact that you used a shooting tweet to talk over women kind of proves their point that it's anger against women and not mental illness that causes men to act so irrationally.

I’m not angry at anybody here. I’m angry at the shooter. I’m angry at the system that produced the shooter. That’s it. The people having this discussion here are not treated any better or worse by me due to their identity. I’ve been perfectly polite.

This is the exact reaction I expected. It's very difficult for a politician who doesn't listen to his constituents fully to be elected. Scapegoating the mentally Ill because you refuse to see the consistent issues in entitlement and anger women face daily is not good.
