THANKYOU. I've always argued this and people just don't seem to get it.
War isn’t about religion. Ever. It’s *always* about money. Religion is a convenient scapegoat and recruiting tool, as are other ideologies like nationalism, but war is about money: Who has it, who needs it, and who wants more of it. Always. Because money *is* power.

War existed before "money" which is relatively recent concept for all th3 distorting impact it has had on the dynamics of the world. So I would suggest it's about "resources". Tribe versus tribe to get hold of the most and best.

Whenever I see a new hotspot pop up, I always look up natural resources in the area, like Sudan for instance. Yup. Rich in untapped minerals.
