I am reading what you're writing. You're saying it's a captive market, and that's simply not true.

If you can’t say “no” to *all* options - meaning you *must* pick one option from the available options - that *is* a captive market. Again, “free market” means the market (that’s us) can enter or leave the entire marketplace at will. Hot dogs at a baseball park vs 7-Eleven.

How are you reaching this point of thought? A free market means you have options, meaning one healthcare facility over another, based both on the quality of service and the cost associated with the service.

And your hot dog analogy actually hurts your argument. It's solidifying the position that you have options in a marketplace and dont NEED to buy a hot dog at the stadium.

Right. But even though you can say no, because you’re captive, price is very high. Healthcare is worse because you cannot say no. See #2. https://toughnickel.com/business/Is-Business-Ethics-Missing-in-Action-from-the-Marketplace …pic.twitter.com/kLS6uqTXlE

I stand by my original statement, that the Libertarian Party conflates individual rights with corporate rights, and industrial rights, and has no real grasp of *actual* economics. They get individual rights correct, as well as warfare, policing, etc. But the economics are *bad*.

But you can say no. In a free market, you can say no to a healthcare option if the service is poor or the cost is too great. And if there is a need for better service/lower costs, the market will provide based on basic supply and demand.

No, it won’t. Because demand for healthcare services is automatically very high. Healthcare providers have absolutely no reason to significantly lower costs. All it does is take money from everybody in the marketplace. 1/2

It’s collusion. They don’t have to directly communicate to collude. They know what’s in their best interests and they all do *that*. Same reason Democrats and Republicans don’t offer significantly better candidates. It’s not in their best interests. 2/2

1. The demand for services is high, but the supply for services would also be high in a less regulated market (elimination of market entry barriers). 2. The GOP/DNC don't 9ffer better candidates because they have shut out competition (ballot access) for third party candidates.

What market-entry barriers are there for doctors, specifically?

Seriously?

Yes. I’d love to see you say “they need to go to school and get licensed” as a negative against doctors.
