I do *not* agree. Desert Storm was started by GHWB primarily because he was being viewed as weak at the time. And GWB’s Iraq war was at least in part a follow-up for daddy. All of these men left the world worse than how they found it and should not be celebrated.

Lisa, I like you. You know what’s right. And I believe if you really, truly considered the harm these men did to the world, you’d agree that the hatred is justified. Wars for oil killing millions, bank deregulation, mass incarceration, welfare cuts... These are not heroes.

Iraq invaded Kuwait because Kuwait was cross-drilling into Iraq. And Iraq was an ally of ours at the time. We supported Hussein with chemical weapons in his fight against Iran. The narrative on GHWB at the time was that he was weak, unlike Reagan. The war was for political gain.
