This isn’t slot-car racing. Just because there are ruts doesn’t mean you have to choose one. All of the dirt between the Tuff Blox is fair game. Period.

Real question here..why does it matter if it’s the last lap? Everyone always brings that up, but say there’s only one guy you know has the speed to beat you, then why not take him out mid race and then you don’t have to worry about him later. Still wins you the race.
It’s nuance. Ultimately, take them out whenever, if that’s how you want it to be. Do that too much, other racers will start taking you out pre-emptively like they do with Friese. A clean pass is preferred (not required), but there’s no time to be patient on the last lap.
