Democrats are far from perfect, and I support independent progressive challengers. But if you don't see the fundamental difference in how Democrats and Republicans respond to principled public pressure, it's YOU that doesn't understand the problem.

I understand it perfectly. Your partisanship is getting the best of you.

Yes, I am aware. Four months ago, I worked for the organization that created that graphic -- directing campaigns for consumer protections. If you want to prove your progressive cred, I suggest you stop trying to undermine your natural allies with condescending tweets.

The problem here is partisanship. Always has been. If you want to fix this, you need to be willing to let corporate Democrats lose. Even if it’s to Republicans. This idea of “vote in better Democrats” is partisanship. Why not vote in better *Republicans* like Ike or Teddy?pic.twitter.com/rzJUxZS4sh

Nothing in my original post (nor any post I have ever made) suggests that I would support corporate Democrats over more progressive candidates. In fact, I have only said the opposite. Leave me alone, dude.

Would you support a progressive Republican over a centrist Democrat?

Don’t be that guy badgering someone who's explicitly asked you to leave them alone. Also do you really think she’s never thought about these tradeoffs in the *10 years* she’s been studying and working on American politics?

The point is that if he was really aware of how the parties work, he wouldn’t have been suggesting that a Dem majority would make those things he posted about any more likely. That’s the partisan line. “Vote in Dems so we can do X!” But they won’t do X.

1. looks like Amanda goes by ‘they’, my mistake 2. again, Amanda has spent 10 years studying and working in American politics. Do you think it’s more likely that they are ignorant of the argument you’re making, or that they have a different perspective?

Who is Amanda? Time spent doing something is no guarantee of expertise.
