I think nobody is looking at this because they are sad that they were told repeatedly that they’re more special than they really are...

It’s unfortunate that this nonsense has been debunked for 20+ years and is still pushed. Likely because the truth was found as the age of “special” began, and so like many other truths, it has been sacrificed to the god of feels.

Well, I can say with certainty that if I read something I’m interested in, I’m a slow reader, but I retain a very high percentage of it. But if I watch a video or listen to an audio book, I don’t retain it very well at all.

I also feel like I don’t retain as much when it’s audio, but I think it’s likely due to the fact that it’s much harder to get distracted when you have to actually focus on reading. How interested you are also has a MAJOR effect.

Sure... But I think visually a lot, so when there’s a number I should know, such as “1 in 830 people who don’t have health insurance in a given year will die as a result” that number is imprinted visually when I read it, but not when I hear it.
