I believe the way to solve gun violence is a sober constructive and intellectual debate and discussion in which case both sides with respect to the individual views come to a mutual and logical agreement not based off of emotions.

*Everyone* has compassion for these kids, and they should *never* be put in a situation like they have been. We’re failing as a society to protect them, and it’s largely *because of* this polarization.
People who are comfortable with guns simply react differently to these sorts of events than people who are not comfortable with guns. And that’s not going to change. But we *can* decide as a society to presume the “other side” is not stupid or evil. Because they’re not.

I cannot agree enough with what you were saying. Calling gun rights Advocates murderers is wrong. We need to sit and talk and decide what's in the best interest of everybody that doesn't include infringing on anyone's rights. We can do it but we can't do it without respect.

In the end, we all want the same things - to stop these mass shootings - so once we start at where we agree, we should be able to agree on cogent solutions. But if the goal isn’t “stop mass shootings” and is instead “get rid of guns” we will *never* come to agreement.
