I believe the way to solve gun violence is a sober constructive and intellectual debate and discussion in which case both sides with respect to the individual views come to a mutual and logical agreement not based off of emotions.

And for the record, I believe Michael means well because I believe he’s a good person. Same with Johnny, except I actually know the guy, so my belief is a bit stronger. I’d really appreciate it if we could stop polarizing this conversation.

But certain arms have already been banned. How do you rationalize that?
-
Depends on the arms to which you’re referring. Full-autos aren’t exactly banned, but close enough... Those who want full-auto firearms, though, get them. Gang members, for example. The only way to truly rid society of undesirable goods or services is to kill the market for them

I’m sorry, but that’s incorrect. The government absolutely bequeaths those rights through the Constitution. If those rights were “natural” they would exist in other countries that have dissimilar gun laws (ie they don’t worship guns like we do here), which they clearly do not.
-
Other governments violate people’s rights, but that doesn’t mean the people don’t have those rights. They’re just being violated. *All* living things have a right to defend themselves, their families and communities from those who would harm them. No exceptions.
