The #MarchForOurLivesLA #MarchForOurLives is obviously well-intentioned.
I just wish people *also* marched for the lives of the approximate 100 per day, 3000 per month, and 36,000 per year who die in our country for lack of health insurance.

And it truly *does* bother me that the reason they likely don’t march for this issue is because the marchers overwhelmingly *have* health insurance. If you have insurance, you aren’t in danger of becoming a casualty of this injustice. But you can be shot either way.

And that, ultimately, makes this march, whether the marchers realize this or not, a march of privilege. It’s the privilege of being able to afford insurance that causes people not to march for those in need. It’s self-interest that causes them to march for gun control.

And if you think the despicable NRA lobbies congress and leads to the deaths of children, wait until you see the casualties of the healthcare lobby. Because more than likely, more US children die *every day* for lack of health insurance than have *ever* died in a mass shooting.

Let's play out your thesis. That is, one system of violence is worse than the other. How does that work with states? Don't more kids die needlessly in red states than blue states? Is that the system or the people who control the system? And why not just vote THEM out first?
