Think what you are saying all the way through... What do you think is a better system a more efficient system in perpetuating life as a whole? If it isn't really majority rule it's minority rule right which is an oligarchies means of pretending you can't make big decisions.

If 51% of people decide 49% should be slaves, then what? The point is that the rights of the minority need to be respected and protected. That doesn’t happen with a direct democracy.

The meaning of words though skewed by talking points repeated constantly or "democrats" using that name doesn't change the real meaning of the word. Who is to decide what peoples Rights are to begin with are you suggesting the minority should decide? https://www.etymonline.com/word/democracy

You sound like someone who is using themselves as a template meaning you think the majority must be ruled over because it's what you would do. If you don't have faith that the majority aren't sociopaths or psychopaths I think you're proving my point.

I'll have to take your lack of response as a vivid example of how you perceive the majority & why you feel the minority must be protected from perceived ignorant choices. I can only assume you feel is you. I grew up around people who feel this is how it should be. I cannot agree
