Adrian, you're being hostile at the guy when he backed up his statements about the guns and is pushing for a progressive policy, which you haven't shown he hasn't done, that will actually lessen gun deaths and gun injuries. So, I don't get why he gets this rancor from you.

I had the same problem with the usually brilliant and progressive journalist Zaid Jilani, who just would not admit assault rifles are much deadlier than hunting rifles and pistols. It's an odd crossing that does include many otherwise progressives.
I don’t know about that conversation, but it’s the definition of “assault rifle” that’s the problem in this sort of discourse. If a rifle is semi-automatic, has a removable magazine, and fires at least a .223 round, it *is* just as deadly as an AR-15. 1/2

I want to put policy in place that will actually stop mass shootings, and lessen gun crimes and suicides as well. I fear laws that will result in mass shootings continuing with wooden or illegal weapons, losing us political ground on things like healthcare and wealth inequality.
