Steve because kids were given bb guns and .22s and then Hunter Safety Courses were created and mandatory for hunting kids. This is not the 60s anymore and at some point we have to start realizing the changes are quite possibly necessary at this time. Was talking abt military.

I know. But there’s no age when a person suddenly leaps into “responsibility”. Responsibility is a character trait that shows up as soon as it’s needed, regardless of age. Or, it doesn’t. Regardless of age.

Even the cannabis commu city agrees that THC levels tend to be better introduced after puberty as study after study rolls out.

Studies have shown heavy cannabis use (5 times or more per week) can lead to permanent cognitive deficits prior to 25 years old. Afterward, the deficits aren’t permanent. But that’s not “don’t go shoot up a school”. I got that at 7.

You got that at 7 because you were trained. Not all gun owners are trained or guided by anyone other than a lust for guns. If you own guns you know that there are legit gun nuts. I have seen them as often as I have met good gun handlers and owners. Can we be real abt that?

So, what happens between 18 and 21 that provides training?

There is some stuff if you plan to hunt then it is now mandatory to complete hunter safety courses but if you just own the gun...nothing. Some ranges might require a training for membership. But it is not mandatory anywhere in any state. This I think needs to be changed.

Ok. But at 18, you can handle those courses the same as at 21, right?

Think about a person at 18 going to college and a person at 21 going to college..those 3 yrs a lot changes still in the brain.

All that changes is 3 years of experience.
