There are billions of high-capacity magazines in circulation, and no serial numbers or any way to track them. It’s not a “fix.” It’d be nice if it were that easy, but it’s not.

I agree that healthcare and a genuine social safety net would do much to improve things. That said, limiting firearm access as well as eliminating weapons solely designed for mass murder has got to help.
It would definitely help if it were possible. Problem is, it’s not. We have over 320 million *unregistered* firearms here. We don’t even know where they are. And at least 10 million of those are ARs. You can’t put toothpaste back into the tube.

“Founded by convicts” hundreds of years ago has no bearing on this. They *voluntarily* turned in 600,000 weapons nearly all of which were already registered. For perspective, that’s 1/533 of the *minimum* number of *unregistered* guns here. We have over 533 times as many!
