In Canada, no matter what type of gun a civilian owns, it must be modified to ensure it can never hold more than three shells/bullets. If you can’t bag a moose without a machine gun, stay out of the woods.

I’m not afraid. Again, Brazilian kids might not be killed *at school* but they’re killed at a much higher rate, generally. Gun laws won’t fix this problem here. Fixing socioeconomics will. That’s why.
Here’s what I actually am afraid of: That we’ll expend tons of political capital to pass gun laws that will not actually do anything to address the problems we face, and *may* make the overall problem worse. I’d rather *directly* fix the problem using healthcare/socioeconomics.

I agree that healthcare and a genuine social safety net would do much to improve things. That said, limiting firearm access as well as eliminating weapons solely designed for mass murder has got to help.

It would definitely help if it were possible. Problem is, it’s not. We have over 320 million *unregistered* firearms here. We don’t even know where they are. And at least 10 million of those are ARs. You can’t put toothpaste back into the tube.
