But seriously, I don't care enough to keep arguing the point. He fucked up to an unfathomable degree. Mileage will vary on whether it was necessary for POTUS to join the madding crowd by pointing it out. I guess I'd just like it if, for once, he chose to be better than us.
I don’t think it’s “better” to risk sending a message that cowardly dereliction of duty resulting in dead kids is acceptable. But that’s just me.

(I guess I care a little.) The entire nation is united in disgust. Do you honestly think there is any possibility that the message you fear has been sent? Come on. Trump adding to it isn't productive. It's vengeful. If the true aim is to make the guy pay, that's cool. But say so.

Suggesting that there was educative value in having Trump weigh in doesn't work, at least, not for me, simply because there is no possibility that any rational person would walk away with the message you suggested. (And the irrational people can't be reached anyway.)
