I don’t see why we can’t have a middle ground. For example, make the same rules we apply to cars apply to guns. That seems well regulated to me.

The 2nd amendment, which you’re referencing, was acknowledging the militia mentioned in Article 1, Section 8, then saying the *people* (on *contrast* to the militia mentioned in the body of the document) have a right to bear arms, too.

Seems likely at least some of these are Cops selling weapons on the black market.
-
Absolutely. But black-market weapons are likely to end up used in crimes.

National reciprocity would remedy this because you would have standardized laws for gun purchase across the nation. Now currently every state has their own....which being from maryland..we don't need any tougher then we have now...

Good point.

U keep focusing & deflecting on mentally-ill people. What is the % of killings done by mentally-ill people, by criminals & by upset/angry/over-reacting people (non-mentally-ill) every year? Any numbers? since the far-right is blaming mental illness 4 the 13K+ killed every year?
-
Mental illness isn’t the source of a majority of homicides, but it *is* the source of the majority of gun deaths. 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides. Suicides are a mental-health issue, as are mass shootings. Most men don’t seek help for mental-health issues. Diagnoses don’t happen.
