Philippe, I don’t usually enter these conversations, but whatever your complaints, saying Bernie should’ve run as an Indie isn’t the answer. He created new energy among Dems; he endorsed HRC; he campaigned for her; he caucuses w/ Senate Dems - why would you throw that away?

I’m genuinely curious: why couldn’t a movement like his stay absolutely true to its principles & not participate in a process of a party he doesn’t truly identify with? Is qualifying in all 50 states that tough? Others like Anderson & Perot did. Seems more intellectually honest.

If you're genuinely curious, the answer is obvious: running third party in our current system just helps the other side. Also, it gets you no coverage. If you want to more 3rd party candidates, advocate for Ranked Choice Voting, which could become law in Maine.

“The other side” - ask George HW Bush how much Ross Perot as a 3rd party candidate helped him win re-election in 1992. Oh, wait...

O Philippe, I hope you didn’t really mean that silly comment. Perot won 19% in the general, making it impossible for Bush to win. Did you really want Bernie to do that to Dems? As a life-long Dem, I’m pleased he brought his energy to us, worked for our nominee, & caucuses w/ us
