Period, I do not own them to take down humans. Never have, but I have been trained to not point them at a human. More people should be trained to never point them at humans, we might just have a different culture by now.

Response has to be tiered. It's fine to play the long game with healthcare, but it's also okay to play the short game for immediate response. If airports can keep those on the watch list from boarding a plane or obtaining visas, it makes no sense to have that not extend to guns.

They shouldn’t be able to do that with air travel, either. Due process of law is a constitutional requirement.

Then when an attack happens, you can hardly sit back and wonder why more wasn't done to prevent it. If not that, then what? Due process is after the fact. Do more to be preventative.

Sooo... Punish people before they commit a crime?

And therein lies the problem...that you're willing to wait, in the face of evidence, for a crime to be committed, rather than take preventative measures.
