Sure. That’s be great. But the thing is, you have to be careful about that, too. If taxes are too high, people will turn to the black market for that as well.

"Sure. But the thing is ..." Always the retort of the failed argument. Look how convoluted you have made this. There is an 8000 lb Gorilla in the room [unfettered private guns] and a myriad of indirect, interacting factors. You prioritize the peripheral over the direct.

Seems like you didn’t even read what that was about. Show me a realistic way to gather up tens of millions of unregistered guns, then we can talk. Until then, what you’re asking for is just as much “thoughts and prayers” as any politician.

Great question. This is where leadership comes in. People need to be asked to give up their guns. To volunteer to restrict their rights. A national call to the greater good. When most guns were banned in other countries, people gave them up voluntarily.

And their leaders didn't toss up their hands like Cowards and and say, "it's not possible" or "show me a way". They engaged & it worked. We all forgo rights and privileges everyday because it protects us all from the few who would abuse it. Its called being an adult & a citizen.
