Honest question: According to an article by journalist @MattBruenig, CBO estimates show that out of every 830 people without health *insurance*, on average 1 will die as a result. 1 in 830. There are about 28 million people without insurance *now*.

Malpractice as a total - insurance and payouts - makes up a total of less than 2% of our medical expenses. It’s not a major problem. We pay 18% of our GDP to healthcare. Highest it is anywhere with universal healthcare is 12%. It’s not malpractice. It’s greed.

You’re comparing apples to oranges. You do not receive the same level of care that we have come to expect in countries with universal health care.
