So if you’re willing to that for the amount of people it would take to guard all of the schools in the US, why wouldn’t you just make that standard gun legislation for those wanting to buy guns?
Because all that does it prevent them from buying the guns *legally*. It doesn’t prevent them from getting guns. That’s magical thinking. And I think allowing this would curb school shootings by itself just because shooters would know there may be armed/trained people there.

I’d be worried about the armed people in the schools not being fit. Again if you can train that many people, you can pass legislation to require more extensive background checks. There is nothing wrong with making it harder to get guns.

That only affects legal gun purchases. Anyone can buy an 80% lower and build a gun on their own with no checks whatsoever.
