It’s a matter of *how* it’s implemented & how they’re trained. They need to volunteer, not be forced. Then they need to be subject to the same background checks, training (modified for schools), & certification as Air Marshals. And only Principals and Vice Principals can know who

So if you’re willing to that for the amount of people it would take to guard all of the schools in the US, why wouldn’t you just make that standard gun legislation for those wanting to buy guns?

Because all that does it prevent them from buying the guns *legally*. It doesn’t prevent them from getting guns. That’s magical thinking. And I think allowing this would curb school shootings by itself just because shooters would know there may be armed/trained people there.
