The funny thing is that Progressives understand the fight for increase in rights. They live for it. So why is a gun owners rights different? Can they at least start to understand the intensity of the desire to protect their rights. Can we start the dialogue there?

the fact a horrific tragedy occurs doesn't mean U.S. citizens lose their rights.

Also laws passed in response to big tragedies tend to be very bad. I find it strange that we only ever talk about guns in the context of these tragedies, when the 20 deadliest mass shootings combined resulted in about as many deaths as one week's worth of suicides by firearm

And all mass shootings combined account for way fewer deaths than people who die due to lack of health insurance with the ACA in a single month.

If yesterday was about average, ~3x as many people died by suicide, and ~1.5x as many people were murdered, almost all with handguns, than died in the school shooting. Yet all the talk is about banning ARs because our politicians are allergic to solving problems

They don’t *want* to solve problems. They only want to *use* the problems to polarize the public and garner money and power for themselves. Period. NFM.
