The funny thing is that Progressives understand the fight for increase in rights. They live for it. So why is a gun owners rights different? Can they at least start to understand the intensity of the desire to protect their rights. Can we start the dialogue there?
They should ban bumpstocks. But *we* should also realize there are millions out there without serial numbers or tracking, so the ban won’t prevent their use.

You are probably right, for now. But we can ban the sale of them, do a serious buy back, and then after the buy back, up the penalty for owning them post buy-back. That would mean penalty even if not used in a crime.

Criminal penalties don’t prevent crimes. If they did, we’d have nobody in jail. Criminals judge a likelihood of being caught. High likelihood of being caught will prevent most crimes. Not penalties. We (Clinton/Biden) increased penalties for drugs, didn’t slow that down at all.
