Is gun control really what you want? Who do you think will be the people targeted by it? Will the guns in existence magically disappear? Will mental health become further stigmatized by it? These are the questions people seem to ignore

Black people should be particularly weary of reactionary calls for gun control. Did we forget the impact of reactionary crime bills that were supposedly addressing a drug epidemic?

Do you want the State to further its armaments while at the same time disarming the public? Meaning do you want the police to have guns and nobody else? Doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.

While it’s understandable, wanting quick solutions without a thorough analysis of the issue isn’t a great idea.

And tbh, I don’t see a solution to school shootings without a massive upheaval of oppressive ideologies like white supremacy and cisheteropatriarchy and the eradication of this capitalist settler colonial hellhole we call the United States.
