2) With the ruling on Citizens United vs FEC, the SCOTUS made number 1 even worse than it already was. It essentially lifted all spending/donation limits for political campaigns. The politicians don't even have to *talk* to us anymore. They don't need us. 3/

And the courts are often subject to partisan politics, being appointed by one party or another. Judges are treated like VIPs on paid vacations and hang out with powerful people. Judiciary isn't as bad off as legislature right now, but it's not *good*. 4/

So... It's not impossible to turn it around peacefully *yet*, but I think maybe it's time to get to doing that with a bit of haste. We *must* turn this ship around before 1 and 2 are removed. At that point, 3 is all that's left, and we as a nation *really* don't want that. 5/5
