Joe here doesn't support universal healthcare despite the ACA (Obamacare) leaving over 27 million people without coverage, which leads to approx 36,000 deaths *every year* due to lack of health insurance.
That's equivalent to a 9/11 *every month*.

If you can't attract a following by the value of your ideals, and if your strongest argument rests on attacking others, then you may not have the substance and depth required to do good.

I have over 30,000 words of sourced and specific policy on my website. Those are my strongest arguments. And until we understand that *neither* party cares about us, we won't get the change we deserve anyway.

The argument "neither side cares" is a lot like "Nobody cares about you; only I care about you". "Only my ideas will protect you."
#LanguageOfControl It is hard for me to explain this concept to people who do not already understand, and that is my deficiency.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 0 polubionych -

I never said or implied that "only I" *anything*. 44% of voters today are independent nationwide. I'm not alone. I'm simply inviting you to join that 44%, and giving you reason to do so by pointing out the truth of both parties. Your receptiveness to the invitation is on you.

"And until we understand that *neither* party cares about us" is a statement of hopelessness, which has the effect of implying that you hold the relief from that hopelessness. As I said, I do not have a way to make you understand. Sadly, anyone who has been abused would.

You can decide to read it however you want, but we're talking about political parties here. They're private entities designed to garner money and power at the expense of denying the people needed infrastructure and services. You're talking about them like they're your parents.

The use of language to exert power and control is a concept that applies in any context in which there are 2 or more people, including in politics. The research on power and control in
#DomesticViolence applies to politics as well.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 0 polubionych -

You realize you're accusing an independent, who lacks the power that comes from parties, of exerting power (which, again, I don't have) against the powerful, right?

(sigh) I'm pointing out to you the effect of your language. You claim to be a journalist, and yet you seem unclear about the effect of your words. Those who lack power do not gain power by biting at the ankles of the powerful. Power comes from the attraction of good ideas.

I'm not trying to gain power. I'm running to return power to the people.

It's bewildering to me that you can't, or won't, see your bias. You haven't posted *anything* critical of the Democratic Party, but tons critical to the Republican Party. And you accuse me of using "abusive language" because I criticize *both* parties.
