Why don't we prevent that instead?

One way to prevent it is to allow people to express political beliefs online under a pseudonym if they choose.

It just strikes me as cowardly. I've *definitely* missed out on opportunities for work by stating my political opinions. I know it for a fact. But I think opinions without a human being behind them tend to be given less credence.pic.twitter.com/5YS1O2udcn

I am by no means a public figure, but my job explicitly precludes me from openly speaking about certain subjects with my own identity. Plus there are many who are more vulnerable than you (or I). last statement is correct but holds no logic to impose upon all/make others cowards.

If your job says not to, shouldn't you just not do it? Or leave your job?

If you take a job at a company or organization & the rule is that you can't do a certain thing, for example ride motorcycles, while you're there (like an athlete I know), & you really want to ride motorcycles, you should leave that job, not just ride motorcycles "anonymously".

It's not saying you can't *have* political opinions, or even discuss them like we used to in the "old days" with our family and friends. Just says you can't post them online. Just like professional athletes not allowed to ride motorcycles as part of their employment agreement.

Put it this way: If all comments at the FCC in favor of gutting Net Neutrality had to be actual people instead of anyonymous accounts, would they have been able to use 22 MILLION fake comments to kill net neutrality? https://www.npr.org/2017/12/14/570262688/as-fcc-prepares-net-neutrality-vote-study-finds-millions-of-fake-comments …

You haven’t read the stories. Many comments falsely submitted under real names. And almost like Social Media != government consultation.
