They're shitty on a lot of things, but every D Senator voted against the insane tax bill, for example. So calling them out is necessary, but having many of the same goals is not the same as having all the same goals. What were need is better Democrats, not fewer.

We need better people, not better Democrats. They voted against that tax bill knowing it would pass anyway. They don't care about you.

Yeah so George W Bush was the best argument I've personally lived through, and a lot of other people died through, against voting third party instead of the Democratic candidate. I don't think that Democrats, by and large, care about me, and I'm no DNC stan.

Chris, you're buying propaganda, buddy. 308,000 Florida DEMOCRATS voted for BUSH in 2000. https://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/12/6/1260721/-The-Nader-Myth … What's way more dangerous than Bush or Trump is allowing two parties total control in a world where literally anybody can pay them off.

Nobody is ever owed a vote. Ever. Gore, and Hillary Clinton, both failed to earn enough votes where it counted. And they lost. It's on them, not any other candidates. Period.

If 538 Floridian Nader voters had voted Gore instead we wouldn't have destroyed Iraq. Afghanistan, maybe still, but not Iraq. But I do in fact lay that mostly on the Democrats choosing--twice in a row--candidates that could lose to George W. Bush.

If my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle. Nobody loses by accident. Gore lost on his own merits.

Sure, Gore was a bad candidate, bad enough that enough people who probably would have otherwise voted for him voted for Nader instead, and helped elect a war criminal. That's my point: The Democrats need better candidates.

A party that fields candidates who lose to the likes of George W. Bush and Donald Trump is in a state of deep disrepair. And you may indeed believe, despite all evidence, that Ralph Nader, Jill Stein, Gary Johnson, Cynthia McKinney, etc, would make good presidents.

But until there is a plausible path to victory for such a candidate in the general, voting for one in the general is indeed throwing away your vote.

I'd rather throw away my vote, or not vote at all, if all I'm doing is voting *against* someone. We'll never fix this country by choosing between those two parties as they are.
