I hear Medicaid for all would be more expensive.
To save confusion, is it too late to change this push for #MedicareForAll to #MedicaidForAll? Medicare isn't #SinglePayer, but Medicaid is. This strikes me as a sort of classism. I think the choice was made to call it Medicare For All because Medicaid is "for the poor."

Because it actually covers 100%, thus "single-payer". Medicare covers 80%, and then you must cover the rest, which means there are multiple payers.

Medicare/Medicaid are both Single Payer Systems. While both are paid with tax $'s they come from different sources. Called Medicare for All because they perceive it to be less expensive. On on hand it is The other it isnt. Also most single payer systems R styled after Medicare

Medicare covers 80%, then you must cover the rest. That means government (80%) is one payer, and you (and/or your supplemental insurance, accounting for the other 20%) are the other payer. That's at least two payers, which means it's not "single-payer".

There is a program called Medicaid for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MEPD) that seems to be under the radar. My son uses it. He pays a monthly premium and has his medical needs met. Medicaid is a secondary payor after his health insurance company.

If that model were adopted, there would be a sliding scale...Those making more would pay higher premiums; those unable to pay would be covered, too. I suggested that, instead of the gov't threatening to take away his care (because he had a good year and made more),
