I was done after October and Boy. And even then they were only OK--never aggressive (to this Clash, Pistols, Agnostic Front fan, anyway).
My tastes have a very wide range, from Pantera to Lyle Lovett, and that's just from Texas. I honestly never "got" U2. You can't even compare their "anger" to Pantera, or even any of the bands considered "grunge". It's soft music. But at least U2 isn't Blink 182 or something...

I’m with you on the range—Hell, I’ll go from Husker Du to Willie to JS Bach in a single drive. My point was only that U2 should never criticize any other band for ‘softness’.
