When I'm elected to congress, as part of my push to base congressional pay on their district's wages, I'll be donating *my own* salary above the median in #cd39 - about $94k/year, pre-tax - to pay teachers back for school supplies they're forced to buy.

With the
#GOPTaxScam taking away the (already far too low) $250 worth of supplies teachers could formerly write off on their taxes, this should make up for a decent chunk of that for teachers teaching in district 39. 2/1 odpowiedź 1 podany dalej 2 polubionePokaż ten wątek -
And to be clear, I think it's an absolute travesty that teachers are expected to pay for *any* school supplies out of their own income in the first place. It's like asking firefighters to buy their own hoses. It's nonsense. And it's unacceptable. 3/

We need to refocus our country on doing what's right here at home. Not "doing what's convenient" or "doing what's cheap" but "doing what's right."
And this is only *one* of the ways I will work to right our wrongs.
