Medicare only covers 80% of medical bills and has almost no price controls for pharmaceuticals. Medicare is better than what we have, but not nearly good enough. It's telling that you don't know this stuff.

Price controls?! They are now forbidden from negotiating lower prices. Thank you bought Congress. The VA gets way lower prices because they arent forbidden. How about we just correct this as opposed to siding with more profiteering?

Nobody is siding with profiteering. Most of Western Europe does NOT utilize single-payer, but ALL of Western Europe has everybody covered (i.e. "Universal") for around 12% of GDP or less. As I said in my first post about this, single-payer *might* be the answer.

I understand that. I am just clarifying the reason our drug prices are high. I would be happy with any form of universal care over what we do now. Med for All is more workable since we have mechanisms already in place.

Right. But it's not good enough. Compromising on moral or ethical issues is itself a moral problem. Healthcare is a right. Denying rights because of income is wrong. We need to do this right, because if we do, it'll work. And if it works, it will last.

consider using the infrastructure we have NOW while working on improvement. if you really want 2 do it correct, you improve it massively+quickly through the systems we have in place+design a better system if the ideas are out there 2 do so. we don't have 2 choose, we can do both

Right. But it must always be seen as a step toward the solution, not *as* the solution. The ACA was billed as a fix, and no work was done to improve it, because it was designed as a handout to the industry. State up-front that this is a step toward the fix, and it's good.

Have you looked at how many times that plan was amended? There is more than one way to amend ‘the plan’. Since it is predicated off of The Social Security Act, And the federal judiciary final rules which are issued and then interpreted by Medicare. Take a look at Part C.

What plan? The ACA?
