Medicare only covers 80% of medical bills and has almost no price controls for pharmaceuticals. Medicare is better than what we have, but not nearly good enough. It's telling that you don't know this stuff.

Price controls?! They are now forbidden from negotiating lower prices. Thank you bought Congress. The VA gets way lower prices because they arent forbidden. How about we just correct this as opposed to siding with more profiteering?

Nobody is siding with profiteering. Most of Western Europe does NOT utilize single-payer, but ALL of Western Europe has everybody covered (i.e. "Universal") for around 12% of GDP or less. As I said in my first post about this, single-payer *might* be the answer.

But no matter what, we need EVERYONE covered and it needs to be in the ballpark of 12% of GDP to do so. Those are the important points. Single-payer at 18% of GDP, or slightly less, will not last. It'll get thrown out like the ACA is about to be.

What are you basing these percentages on? Why does it need to be 12%?
