They're below. Now, please show me ANY COUNTRY ON THE PLANET (outside of places where we can't trust the government numbers such as NK and China) with worse socioeconomics than the US and less gun homicides. Deal? I'll wait here. https://amp.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2012/jul/22/gun-homicides-ownership-world-list … 2/2

Take all the time you need. I went through it already. I know the result.

Okay first caveat when reviewing these stats: “With less than 5% of the world’s population, the United States is home to roughly 35–50 per cent of the world’s civilian-owned guns, heavily skewing the global geography of firearms and any relative comparison”

Yep. And if gun ownership was the *cause* of gun homicides, we'd have an equivalent number of gun homicides as compared to the rest of the world. But again, I'm looking for any country with worse socioeconomics and a lower gun-homicide rate. Those are the two stats.

So that is your takeaway from this information? I am assuming you look at the gun homicide rate of 2.97 per 100,000 people in the US which is very low in comparison to the number of guns owned in the US.

So comparison of gun ownership in France & that they have a gun homicide rate of 0.06 per 100,000 but an assumption that the country has better socio-economic conditions because based on the number of guns in France they are not killing each other to same degree as Americans?

What the chart does not tell you is WHY? You have the made the connection with socio-economic factors based purely on the fact that this is most definitely a factor in all the South American countries it lists & that France has better socio-economic factors in their figures

The only flaw in your argument is that while socio-economics play a role in non-violent crimes how do you reconcile some rich, white American narcissistic dude named Stephen deciding to slaughter innocent concert goers in Las Vegas just because of some bad business dealings?

Mental illness. Which is also a socioeconomic factor, but which is not going to be 100% eliminated. You can pull exceptions all you want, but I never claimed we'd ever have NO gun violence. Most gun violence here is gang related, property-crime-related and domestic violence.

So, could you not find a single country?

And how does one country defend your position?

The lack of one country defends my position. If you found one country, it would defeat my point.
