Sure. But you can and should explain reasoning behind things rather than mocking those who don't understand and trying to tell them their opinions don't count. All opinions matter. Some opinions are wrong. Those should be reasonably corrected.

Steve, it is so refreshing to engage with an open minded and intelligent person from over the pond. I'm afraid your ill-informed countrymen give a very poor impression of your country when we know this is not the case.

People here are just as smart as people there. I love the U.K. Big fan of dry humor and wet weather. Americans often don't get my humor... The problem is the misinformation being spewed on all sides here. It polarizes people and shuts down discourse.

Yes it does. I spent time in Washington and Oregon not too long ago. I understand some of the issues, but am more than happy to be educated to help me understand. Yet none of these people do that in a civilised manner, they just resort to ignorant opinions and insults.

Yes! The anti gun brigade are as hysterical (if not more) as some of the pro-gun activists. No argument there! My friends who are gun owners are sick of being vilified but there is no meeting across the aisles in Congress on this issue.
