They both reference other studies too, right? I'm not sure they are supposed to impact your decision making in the ways the studies describe. Or if they are, that that is a good thing.

It's a matter of the confidence of a perceived advantage. This would happen to some professional fighters in bars, body builders, people who know martial arts... It's not a gun thing, it's a people thing.

That's a fine assumption. It makes sense. Not sure I agree it is that simple, but these are just opinions. As to a fighter in a bar, to me that's a bit silly. Lots harder to become that fighter than owning a gun, efficacy of gun damage far greater to more people...

The fighter may share the same bravado and violence-prone decision making, but the impact is lessened by the required intimacy of fist-violence (unless you are the target I suppose)

This is a very small percentage of the overall gun-violence problem regardless. Gun violence is mostly due to gang activity (usually related to illicit drugs), property crime, and domestic violence. And in the latter category, guns can serve as equalizers.

I think it probably plays a pretty big role in domestic violence, where I haven't seen any study or statistic imply any advantage for women as an equalizer. Some of the studies said it may play a big role in suicides as well.

There aren't any studies on it because it doesn't fit the desired narrative. And suicide, while tragic, isn't a reason to restrict a non-suicidal person's right to self defense.

And the self defense thing is not an opinion I share. But that's par for this course. I value a lot of things more than your right to have countless firearms of any variety.

Frankly, that doesn't matter. You can value pink bunnies and purple elephants over someone else's right to do as they please, it's not your concern. If someone isn't harming anybody, they can do what they want in a free country.

It is my concern, because their nonsense right invades my children's safety. And it's not your right to stop me from caring or trying.

No it doesn't. If I own 500 firearms and don't shoot anybody, it does nothing to you or your kids.
