The NRA doesn't *invent* these points. They *use* them to their advantage. They're things gun owners already believe. The first three things you listed are great, but they won't solve mass shootings. Abusers and criminals need convictions to be considered such. 1/2

And "keeping guns out of schools" only works while a gunman doesn't *want* to shoot up a school. Laws aren't magic. Any law's effectiveness is measured by its enforceability. We need to focus on really fixing these problems, not just passing ineffective laws. 2/2

I was born, raised & educated in the U.K. I’ve lived in France & Germany. Till I moved to Canada 30 yrs ago I had never seen a gun irl. I’ve still only seen them holstered on LEOs. Mental illness affects all of us. In the developed world, guns are only ubiquitous in the US.
