Sorry Steve. This is way wrong. Background checks on every gun sale, keeping guns away from domestic abuser and criminals, and keeping guns out of schools isn’t restricting anyone’s rights. That’s a @NRA talking point.https://twitter.com/realstevecox/status/931337918341197825 …

The NRA doesn't *invent* these points. They *use* them to their advantage. They're things gun owners already believe. The first three things you listed are great, but they won't solve mass shootings. Abusers and criminals need convictions to be considered such. 1/2

And "keeping guns out of schools" only works while a gunman doesn't *want* to shoot up a school. Laws aren't magic. Any law's effectiveness is measured by its enforceability. We need to focus on really fixing these problems, not just passing ineffective laws. 2/2

No, not vague. These are nations with more and less gun homicides than the US. See the wide variation in gun ownership? But if you pay attn, ALL of the nations with more gun crime have worse socioeconomics and vice-versa. Coincidence? Source: The Guardianpic.twitter.com/5fdGeWVKfh
