Due process by having a mental health professional assess the mental health capacity of gun purchase applications for those who have a prior mental health diagnosis seems OK.
He's saying "what" diagnosis. And he's right. I have ADHD. Would I be precluded? Only violent mental illnesses should be precluded.

Right and that was the point I was getting at just didn’t know how to articulate it. Most wouldn’t. But a “yes” should require just a chat with a mental health professional to attest to their mental capacity.
