The waiting period has been proven to prevent absolutely no gun crime. By numbers, the only thing it prevents is some suicides by elderly people. Just FYI.

The only retroactive change I have suggested is requiring gun owners to register firearms with a national registry though. Everything else would be proactively done, in my scenario.
Why? Not being obtuse, just trying to follow your logic. Why require registration?

I’d be more so concerned with those who have stockpiles of weapons, although this gets back to “I don’t trust the govt with that info”

It would be much easier to justify this if our govt wasn't under corporate control with mass surveillance and so many other major constitutional rights violations, you know?
