Of course. But how would REPEALING a REGRESSIVE tax *help* while instituting a progressive tax won't? Makes no sense.

The rich work the system and don't pay full rates. Tax cuts for ave people is the most direct way to stimulate the economy.

Combine this with fiscal spending, i.e. health care, job guarantee, free college, and you can improve inequality w/o raising $1 in taxes.

We don't have to just pick one thing.

The strategy of tying taxation to spending is a failed one. A bill is much more likely to pass if it does not require a tax raise.

Tax the rich to prevent an Oligarchic class. NOT because we need their $$$

It's just as much about justice. It's *wrong* to allow billionaires to pay less in taxes than teachers.
