I know it’s common for politicians to offer “thoughts” and/or “prayers” after tragic events. I won’t, & it’s not because I don’t care. 1/22

It’s because I value action over words; substance over optics. It seems we’ve come to expect the *opposite* of our elected officials. 2/22

The people we trust to push policy for the betterment of our people, and our country as a whole, have betrayed that trust for decades. 3/22

We’ve gotten to the point where *all* they offer us are “thoughts and prayers,” with no actions to follow them. 4/22

This is just as true of politicians as it is of anybody else. Politicians say this to *seem* like good people while doing *nothing*. 6/22

These people represent the very worst of us. Using tragedies to gain a political advantage, while helping nobody, is as low as it gets. 7/22
